Egg Freezing Step-By-Step
1
Medication & Monitoring
Start medication to stimulate ovaries and help follicles to mature for collection. You will be monitored to ensure your medication is having the desired effect. This is typically about 2-3 weeks.
2
Trigger & Retrieve
The actual procedure to collect the eggs is relatively painless. Our fertility specialists will collect your eggs using a fine catheter through the vaginal wall into the ovary with light suction.
3
Freeze & Store
Your eggs are then frozen until you are ready to use them! When you are ready, you will need to book an IVF procedure to start the fertilization process.
Who Should Consider Freezing Their Eggs?
Before any procedure (or surgery) that might diminish follicle count (removing an ovarian cyst or even a fibroid)
Cancer patients who are about to undergo radiation treatment or chemotherapy
Women who wish to conceive at a later date and want to preserve their current fertility
